Free Knee Replacement Preparation Checklist
Use this practical 2-Week Knee Replacement Launch Plan to organize the final 14 days before surgery.
This free knee replacement preparation checklist helps you organize your home, equipment, support, paperwork, clothing, and surgery-day details. Everything is arranged in a day-by-day countdown.
What You’ll Find in the Launch Plan
The checklist begins 14 days before surgery and continues through surgery day. It includes:
- 14 to 8 days before surgery: Home preparation, safety setup, support planning, and equipment checks
- 7 to 1 days before surgery: Bathroom setup, walker preparation, skin preparation, paperwork, and clothing
- Surgery day: What to bring, what to wear, and important details to have ready
- The first week afterward: Items and arrangements that may make the transition home easier
- Helpful reminders: Brief prompts for keeping important information organized
Who Is This Free Checklist For?
This resource is designed for adults who have scheduled knee replacement surgery and are entering the final two weeks before the procedure. It may also be helpful earlier if you want to identify home, equipment, and support details that require advance planning.
The Launch Plan does not prescribe exercises or replace your surgical instructions. It focuses on the practical preparation surrounding surgery and the return home.
When Should You Start Using the Launch Plan?
Begin with the 14-day section if your surgery is approximately two weeks away. If your procedure is closer, start with the current day and review the earlier sections for anything that still needs attention.
You do not need to complete every item at once. Use the countdown to identify what applies to you and discuss individual questions with your healthcare team.
