The Knee Replacement Game Plan™
Book One in the Total Knee Success™ Series
Prepare for knee replacement with a plan, not a pile of unanswered questions
The weeks before knee replacement give you an opportunity to understand your starting point, prepare for what lies ahead, and organize the questions you want to discuss with your healthcare team.
The Knee Replacement Game Plan™ is being created to bring those pieces together in one evidence-informed, practical resource.

A practical approach to knee replacement preparation
Knee replacement preparation can involve physical readiness, home planning, support, medical appointments, and dozens of decisions that are difficult to organize at once.
Much of the information arrives through separate appointments, handouts, websites, and conversations. Important questions may not occur to you until after an appointment has ended.
The Knee Replacement Game Plan™ is designed to help you gather that information, understand your starting point, and make thoughtful use of the weeks before surgery.
A more organized way to prepare
Understand your starting point
Explore the factors that may influence your preparation, including pain, function, movement, balance, strength, and daily activities.
Prepare for what is ahead
Learn how physical preparation, home readiness, support, and health considerations fit into the weeks leading up to surgery.
Build an organized plan
Bring the pieces together so you can identify your priorities, record useful information, and prepare questions for your healthcare team.
More than another knee replacement checklist
A checklist can remind you what to buy or bring. It cannot help you understand your starting point or connect that information with the way you prepare.
The Knee Replacement Game Plan™ combines education and planning tools in one resource for adults who want to participate actively in their knee replacement preparation.
Created by Michelle Losurdo
The Knee Replacement Game Plan™ is written by Michelle Losurdo, PT, DPT, Cert. DN, a physical therapist and Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist.
Michelle is also the host of the Total Knee Success Podcast and an adjunct professor who teaches future physical therapist assistants. The Game Plan brings together clinical experience, current research, and practical teaching for adults considering or preparing for knee replacement.
The book does not replace your surgeon, physical therapist, or healthcare team. It is designed to help you make better use of the information, appointments, and preparation time already available to you.
